Credo Bonum FoundationCredo Bonum foundation, established in 2006, is an independent non-governmental organization, working in the public interest and in collaboration with a wide range of international, regional and Bulgarian organizations. Its chairwoman is Tzvetelina Borislavova.

In 2009 Credo Bonum foundation started the 2020 Initiative, supported by Capital foundation, Centre for Liberal Strategies and World Bank. The Initiative aimed at outlining more distant horizon in the development of Bulgaria till year 2020, provoking a broad discussion about the most important topics of the country with active participation of the citizens. The 2020 Initiative organized a national forum, which included the active Bulgarian community in a debate about the future of economics, energetics, ecology, education, information society, tourism, global warming and others.

The Credo Bonum foundation supports different projects for reconstructions of historical monuments in Bulgaria. One of its current projects is establishing a route between monasteries, churches, tombs, remains of settlements and other religious and cultural sites, known as Sofia Sveta Gora. The project, initiated by the Credo Bonum Foundation in partnership with Sofia Municipality, seeks to encourage, by creating the proper conditions for cultural tourism, the adoption of a more responsible attitude towards nature and the historical heritage. The foundation’s chief activities are focused on the improvement and the development of the alternative routes between the churches and monasteries in Sofia Sveta Gora—hiking and bicycle routes—known primarily to a handful of devoted pilgrims and aficionados of active recreation. Parts of the steps for the popularization of this route are putting up of signposts, path marking, publication of information materials and others. The foundation created and maintains a website, dedicated to the project – www.svetagorasofia.bg, which contains information about the routes and places in the northern part of Sofia Sveta Gora.

The Credo Bonum Foundation runs its own Gallery, which was opened at the end of 2003 by Tzvetelina Borislavova as Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of The Economic and Investment Bank. Until 2008 the gallery operated under the name CIBANK as the only example of a symbiosis between a bank and a cultural institution in Bulgaria – www.credo-gallery.bg For these years the dynamic switching of expositions and the alternation of classical and modern forms have brought the space recognition as an autonomous authority and helped it rise to the top rank of Sofia’s most eminent and sought-after exhibition spaces. Having accumulated a notable history with background of almost 100 exhibitions and with the support of the Credo Bonum Foundation, the Gallery aimed to become a new space that seeks to arouse the interest of the general public in different forms of art by staging offbeat exhibitions and offering educational opportunities. A key priority is the variety of cultural events, the blending of different forms of arts, the increased social commitment, as well as the full use of the critical potential of arts. In its programme, the gallery sticks by its commitment to presenting modern art, introducing young authors, working with private and public collections, and showcasing the entire gamut of media that contemporary art employs. Thus, in harmony with the various cultural, social and public activity of the foundation, the Credo Bonum Gallery asserts its new ambition to develop and win recognition as an independent space for arts and culture which draws its themes and accents from the everyday life and from the topical problems of our environment.

From the beginning of the year 2011 the Credo Bonum Foundation started a new project in Bulgaria which purpose is to raise awareness at important issues and problems of the society, to ask questions and seek answers together with the active representatives of this society – www.credobonum.bg. This is an online media project in Bulgarian only for positive news, successful practices, valuable tips, inspirational ideas. The media shares stories of people and organizations that change the world, inspiring the good in themselves and others, offering solutions for change. The media works with different international and US sources.
