LIVINGWEB™ - THE REAL-VIRTUAL FESTIVAL
04.09 - 15.09.2013
Live exposition of digital environment in a multimedia and interactive museum of perception.
The first edition of the real-digital art festival LivingWEB™, will take place in six different locations in Sofia and Blagoevgrad from 4 -15 September.
This is the first event of this kind, which materializes the World Wide Web and makes it physically accessible to anyone so that the virtual becomes real.
LivingWEB™ is a festival that aims to renew and transform the face of the city through arts installations and to reveal and present the new dimensions of the Internet phenomenon. The event will demonstrate what the Internet gives to the online users and what it takes from them; what is the price of having the answer to everything one click away and how this has changed the life in todays’ society.
Apart from interactive installations and performances, the festival program will include educational events, innovative exhibition, expert lectures, public lessons, live discussions and presentations of new and future technology.
Projection screens will be installed in different locations in Sofia and Blagoevgrad, and there will be live reporting of the events happening in the main area of the festival. Observers with cameras will be walking around the exhibition to report on the screens, positioned at different places. The visitors will navigate the screens (through a moderator and SKYPE) and will watch the show at various city locations – a live Internet experience without time and space limits.
The interactive installations will represent live simulations of websites, materialized in a labyrinth of hyperlinks and live programs, where an array of performers will be involved – actors, jugglers, acrobats, dancers, stand-up comedians and parkour performers.
This event is part of the initiatives in support of the Candidature of Sofia and Southwest Region for European Capital of Culture 2019. The festival will run under the patronage of Sofia Municipality and the support of the American University in Bulgaria, and “Seasons” Gallery.
Entry will be free.
The festival will transform the capital city into a gallery and multimedia theatre and will aim to share Sophia with the world.
