During the period 1.08-31.08 2013 visitors of gallery “Loran” will have the opportunity to see a remarkable exhibition of paintings – handiworks of some of the most famous Bulgarian painters of the last century. Visitors will also be able to buy original oil on canvas paintings by Zlatyu Boyadjiev, Nikola Tanev, Ilya Petrov, Danail Dechev, Boris Nenov, Pencho Balkanski. Among the variety of valuable paintings arranged in the art gallery on “Oborishte” 16 str., there are two pieces of art that will highly intrigue those who are tempted by the works of our famous artists. These paintings are Tsanko Lavrenov’s “Asenovgrad Houses”, revealing some characteristic style and colors, and his earlier, modernistic work “Naked Body”. Another highlight in the exposition is the painting “Woman with a Head-cloth” by Ivan Markvicka – undoubtedly a real find for a collector. The portrait is impressive for it shows the typical skill of the painter and it reveals the complex nature of the depicted woman, through exposing her emotional look beyond the purely ethnographic traits. Another significant painting from the exposition is “Goatherd Girl” by Marin Georgiev Ustagenov, who was a student of Markvicka in the first class of the National Painting School.

Mario Jekov’s three marine landscapes, which he had painted in different periods of his artistic life, complement the variety of genres and subjects at the exposition. The art connoisseurs would also be interested in the artworks of Bronka Gyurova and Alexander Petrov-Lavandulata. They are both painters, whose works are rarely available on the art market.
