Sofia International Literary Festival

Authors from 7 Balkan countries will take part in the Sofia Literature  Festival 10  -  15 December 2013

The idea of the organizer – the Bulgarian Book Association – is that the festival be held annually and turn into the most representative literary forum in Bulgaria, bringing together authors from all countries. Each year the international participation in the event will have a different regional accent. For the first edition the focus  is the Balkans.

NE Fest

NEFestisafestivalforindependentexperimentalart, initiated by a group of young artists, with the cooperation of the Student Council of the National Academy of Arts (NAA) in Sofia, Bulgaria. The festival will be released as an off program of the fourth edition of the digital art festival DA Fest, organized by NAA. 

DA Fest

DA Fest is an international festival organized by the National Academy of Art in Sofia which meets the Bulgarian audience with new tendencies and important achievements in the area of digital arts – digital video, interactive performance and installation, net art, sound art and etc.

 The festival’s mission is to build a favorable cultural-educational space in the field of digital arts creating a platform for dialogue between artists, students,  researchers, academics and critics who work in that area.

The first edition of the real-digital art festival LivingWEB™, will take place in six different locations in Sofia and Blagoevgrad from 4 -15 September.

Dear friends and colleagues,

As the new edition of the Water Tower Art Fest is coming up, we invite you to submit a proposal to take part in the festival between 19 – 23rd of June 2013.

For a 7th year in a roll our festival is opening new and old spaces, known and unknown, both to the citizens of Sofia and their fellow artists from abroad.

Matera is organizing a festival with the participation of Sofia

Matera city, Italy, is one of the candidates for the title European Capital of Culture in 2019. Regarding the nomination, the city is organizing the international festival - Materadio, in partnership with Rai Radio 3. The festival will be between 21rd and 23th of September. Participating are artists from Italy and other European countries, as well as journalists from electronic media, who will have the chance to organize live broadcasting from the hot spot.

Dance It! 2012 – Autumn Edition


Dance It! is a dance intensive week-long workshop program, which will be held for the second time this year from the10th to the 16th of September in the National School of Dance Art in Sofia, Bulgaria.

This is a project by Iliev Dance Art Foundation, an internationally-focused organization founded in 2008 by Petur Iliev – Bulgarian-born choreographer in Chicago, Seattle and Sofia. The America for Bulgaria Foundation is the project’s main funding partner since 2011.



2012 marks the fifth anniversary of the Elizabeth Kostova Foundation and its Sozopol Fiction Seminars.


A manifest in “3 Ushi” Club will present the best of the Bulgarian gothic, industrial and experimental stage on 30 March 2012.
SYNDICATE 3 is an event that gives stage to young industrial, gothic and avant-garde artists and bands. Participating are MAZUT, TEETH OF DIVINE, EMERGING PATTERNS, FAULT, Progect GARG, Natalya Atanasova, DJ Fanatic and Draga Saparevska.
